A Utah Couple’s Unexpected Reunion with Their Missing Cat

A couple from Utah received the shock of a lifetime when they received a call informing them that their lost feline had been located in Los Angeles.

Carrie Clark shared that their family’s indoor-only cat, Galena, vanished without explanation on April 10. Loved ones and neighbors joined in the search efforts, scouring their home, the area, and nearby communities for a week. Missing posters were distributed throughout the town and shared on various online platforms.

“Galena has been a tremendous source of emotional support for me, aiding me through various health obstacles in the last six years,” Clark shared with KSL TV via email. The uncertainty surrounding her whereabouts caused immense anxiety and stress, making the situation extremely difficult to endure.

On April 17, Clark was informed that Galena’s microchip had been scanned that afternoon. Shortly after, she received a surprising call from a veterinarian in California.

“I was initially skeptical and thought it might be a joke,” Clark mentioned.

The veterinarian informed Clark that she had found her cherished cat, Galena, inside an Amazon box along with five pairs of work boots.

Clark rushed to inform her husband that they had located Galena, only to break down in tears upon realizing that she must have leaped into a large box that was sent out the week before. The box was intended for customers to test out products before making a purchase and was packed with steel-toed work boots.

The Discovery of Galena in an Amazon Box

One day, Carrie Clark stumbled upon a mysterious Amazon box that contained Galena.

– Ultimately, Galena found herself confined in the container alongside the Amazon return items for a duration of six days, deprived of sustenance and hydration.

An Amazon Employee’s Heartwarming Gesture

Brandy, a dedicated Amazon employee, came across a cat inside the California warehouse. Without hesitation, she took the cat under her wing and ensured its well-being until she could bring Galena to the veterinarian the next day.

– Clark expressed his excitement after speaking with the vet by mentioning his phone conversation with Brandy. He conveyed her relief upon learning about their love for Galena and their earnest search for her.

– Clark and her spouse have made arrangements to catch a flight the following day in order to be reunited with their beloved feline companion.

“We made sure to bring Galena’s pink carrier, her food, her favorite treats, and towels that had the familiar scent of home. The anticipation of reuniting with her was palpable,” Clark expressed.

Brandy informed Clark that Galena quickly identified and responded to Clark’s voice as soon as they entered the veterinarian’s office.

“It was such a heartwarming reunion! Galena calmed down instantly and nestled in my embrace when I was finally able to hold her again,” shared Clark. “Despite being a bit thinner and slightly dehydrated, her blood tests came back normal, and she appeared completely unscathed.”
