“How to Migrate and Modernize with Ease: Introducing Post-Launch Actions for AWS Application Migration Service”
Migrating and modernizing your servers to the cloud can be a time-consuming and error-prone process. But with the new AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) and its revolutionary post-launch actions, you can now easily replicate and convert your servers to run natively on AWS. Say goodbye to manual processes and hello to a seamless transition.
Introducing Post-Launch Actions for AWS Application Migration Service
Just a year ago, Channy showed us how to use the new AWS Application Migration Server for lift-and-shift migrations. But now, with the addition of agentless replication and support for Windows 10 and multiple versions of Windows Server, AWS MGN has expanded its capabilities even further. And that’s not all – we’ve also added support for additional regions, making it easier for you to migrate to AWS from anywhere in the world.
Enhance Your Migration and Modernization Efforts with Post-Launch Actions
With the latest update to AWS MGN, we’re introducing a set of optional post-launch actions to give you even more control over your migration and modernization process. These actions are initiated and managed by the AWS Systems Manager agent, which can be automatically installed after the migration is complete. Choose from a variety of actions, including installing the Systems Manager agent, disaster recovery, CentOS conversion, and SUSE subscription conversion. And stay tuned – we have plans to add more options in the future.
Customize Your Post-Launch Settings for Enhanced Efficiency
Make the most out of the post-launch actions by customizing your post-launch settings template. This template will automatically apply default settings to each new source server you add. But don’t worry, you can still make changes and personalize it to fit your unique needs. Just navigate to the post-launch settings template in the AWS Application Migration Service Console and click “Edit” to get started.
Easy to Use, Easy to Manage
Setting up and managing the post-launch actions is a breeze. Simply select the server you want to make changes to and click “Edit post-launch settings.” From there, you can choose which actions you want to apply and customize the settings accordingly. Any errors that occur during execution will be recorded in the SSM execution log, allowing you to troubleshoot and fix any issues quickly.
Get Started Today
The post-launch actions for AWS Application Migration Service are available now in all supported regions. Don’t wait any longer – start using them today to simplify your migration and modernization efforts.
Keep Up With the Latest Updates
We’re always striving to improve and enhance our services, so stay tuned for more updates and additions to the post-launch actions for AWS MGN. And as always, we’re here to support you along the way. Happy migrating!
